What is Tai Chi?

Unlike aerobics and most forms of modern Western exercise, Tai Chi steadily teaches you how it is possible to achieve vibrant health and assist healing through correct body alignments and low-impact movements. It is based most importantly on moderation, known as the 70% Rule.

The internal health aspects of Qigong practised alone or within Tai Chi can help relieve physical, emotional and mental tension and stress and pave the way to self-healing. We believe that the way we teach Tai Chi is safe for people of all ages and levels of fitness.

    5 Seasons Qigong - Spring

A day workshop in Downton on Saturday 28th March with optional 'Sink-in Sunday' on March 29th to help consollidate the teaching of the previous day.

Like its element Wood, the Spring season brings the opportunity of growth and gentle extension. In this workshop, we will be paying particular attention to discovering our limits with the 70% Rule before gently creating extension in our body. We will be teaching how to connect with the liver through the eyes, and material from the Marriage of Heaven and Earth Neigong to open the joints and spine and stretch the tissue.

Please visit our  events page for more details.

The Tradional Yang 108 hand form

For the first time, we will begin teaching the traditional Yang style long form (108), which we started to introduce during our very successful Wu 108 workshop last July. The traditional Yang-style 108 movement bare-hand Taiji routine is what started the modern Taijiquan revolution. Presented as a series of 2 day weekend workshops, this is a chance look at key sequences, movement intent and application. Open to beginners, though some Tai Chi form experience would be useful.

Please visit our events page for more details.
