Stay Connected! Quotes...

...what our students say

"Thank you for your email and I have checked out the Stay Connected and it is fabulous, thank you, and I can cope with the technology (yippee!). "

"Many thanks for videos. Getting into the habit of daily practice as a result! The breathing one was interesting with new information for me.”

"I think the 'stay connected' idea is excellent and is working very well. You have both clearly spent alot of time producing a varied and extremely informative set of videos that are of high quality with very accessible content.

...Very impressed, and thank you for sharing. "

"Am totally in awe of the speed with which you have been able to sort online tuition.  As a beginner, I have found the videos really beneficial: to be honest - even better than a once a week session as I have been able to review each day rather than having to remember..."

We're so glad you are enjoying it!

Chinese New Year 2021

Chinese New Year of the Metal Ox

Feb 12th 2021

We would like to wish you a Happy Chinese New Year of the Metal Ox, this Friday 12th Feb! The Ox is the second animal in the 12-year cycle of the Chinese zodiac signs. Years of the Ox include 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021.

Oxen people are strong, reliable, honest and conscientious. They are low key and never look for praise or to be the centre of attention. This often hides their talent, but they gain recognition through their hard work. They believe that everyone should do what’s asked of them and stay within their bounds. They rarely lose their temper, they think logically and make great leaders. They believe in themselves and may say little, but can be opinionated, stubborn and hate to fail or be challenged.

The reference to metal relates to the cycle of the 5 elements in their yin and yang forms. This year is a yin metal year. The metal element is synonymous with resistance and loyalty, teamwork and community. Yin metal corresponds with metal ornaments which embellish or implements like cutlery which help us to feed ourselves. Metal in Chinese medicine relates to the lungs, to the colour white and to pungent tastes and flavours such as garlic, ginger and spicy foods.

In the Chinese Zodiac, 2021 is going to be a year favourable for recovery and to focus on relationships, when problems get solved by effort and discipline. This is going to be a year when we will feel the weight of our responsibilities, a year when it is necessary to double our efforts and organisation, to accomplish with determination what we wish to achieve. In order to rise above the difficulties without giving up on your dreams, it is a good time to focus on what is real and concrete rather than risk getting lost in illusions.

All of us here at Longwater Tai Chi would like to wish you a fresh and optimistic start for 2021 - things can only get better!
