For those looking to practice taiji at a more active or recreational level the 5 section taijjiquan curriculum created by Master Sam Masich is ideal as it introduces the art in a principled way. If practitioners are eager for partner work they might play with the two person forms combined with sensing-hands and sensing-sword work. For those nervous about partner forms or who have had bad experiences with taiji push-hands, the jue-shou approach to connection and movement-through-relaxation can be perfect for breaking down barriers.
Classes and workshops run throughout the year, except on bank holidays and special times like Easter, August holidays and Christmas. Check our home page for the latest information on when we are not teaching.
The traditional Yang-style 108 movement bare-hand Taiji routine is what started the modern Taijiquan revolution.
Following cancellation of our workshops during the COVID-19 lockdown, we can now offer this study as online videos and live sessions. Open to newcomers, though some Tai Chi form experience would be essential.
This is currently a FREE online session available to all of our students who have registered for the Yang 108 video library. All newcomers may register your interest here and we will contact you to check your suitability.
Once registered, you will be invited to join a recurring Zoom session (see details), which you can diary for each session. You can attend as much or little of the session as you wish.
Each session is 120 mins - you can also join 15 mins before to setup your camera etc. Sessions will run on every 3rd Saturday of the month.
