Martin Brennan

martin biog

Martin spent thirteen years up to the age of forty practicing Karate and dabbling in various other martial arts. During this period he also practiced the Cheng Man Ching form of Yang Tai Chi. He has maintained his interest in Tai Chi and joined Longwater Tai Chi in 2010. During this time he has practised the Wu style short form and is currently following the Yang 5 section Syllabus.

As a result of overstraining a joint when exercising during his Karate years, Martin occasionally suffers from an inflammation of the joints mainly affecting his right shoulder. Regular Tai Chi practice helps to maintain a full range of movement in this area.

As Martin is now well into his sixties the health benefits of Tai Chi are his primary focus although he still maintains an interest in the martial arts. The underlying philosophy of Tai Chi is steadily influencing his attitude to life in positive ways.

Martin is in full time employment as a software trainer and business analyst.
