Yang Style 108 Workshop

Yang Style 108 Workshop

If you are serious in your pursuit of Tai Chi (taijiquan) knowledge, then sooner or later you will have to begin your study of the traditional forms, which contain all the details passed on through the Tai Chi family lineages.

2011 02 23 malaysia 38

It is generally acknowledged that modern Yang style Tai Chi comes from Yang Cheng Fu, the grandson of Yang Lu Chan (1799-1872), who founded the style. The lineage continues to this day through Grandmaster Yang Jun, Cheng Fu's grandson. Our study of the 108 hand form comes from our teacher Sam Masich, founder of MIAM (the Masich Internal Arts Method). Master Masich is a formal disciple of Grandmasters Liang Shou-Yu and Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming, with other important early influences including Jou Tsung Hwa and Yang Zhenduo (Yang Cheng Fu's son).

Following cancellation of our workshops during the COVID-19 lockdown, we can now offer this study as online videos and live sessions.  Open to newcomers, though some Tai Chi form experience would be essential.

This is currently a FREE online session available to all of our students who have registered for the Yang 108 video library. All newcomers may register your interest here and we will contact you to check your suitability.

Once registered, you will be invited to join a recurring Zoom session, which you can diary for each session. You can attend as much or little of the session as you wish.

Each session is 120 mins - you can also join 15 mins before to setup your camera etc.

This course is taught by Patrick Foley, who has nearly 30 years of experience in traditional Taiji and Neigong practices. He was taught Wu style by Brian Cooper (Senior instructor of Master Bruce Frantzis) and Yang style by Master Sam Masich (to whom he is Indoor Student).

Who can attend

  • Any absolute beginner but we would like you to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. first to make sure this workshop course is suitable for you.
