Yang Style 108 Zoom

Yang Style 108 Zoom

If you are serious in your pursuit of Tai Chi (taijiquan) knowledge, then sooner or later you will have to begin your study of the traditional forms, which contain all the details passed on through the Tai Chi family lineages.

2011 02 23 malaysia 38

It is generally acknowledged that modern Yang style Tai Chi comes from Yang Cheng Fu, the grandson of Yang Lu Chan (1799-1872), who founded the style. The lineage continues to this day through Grandmaster Yang Jun, Cheng Fu's grandson. Our study of the 108 hand form comes from our teacher Sam Masich, founder of MIAM (the Masich Internal Arts Method). Master Masich is a formal disciple of Grandmasters Liang Shou-Yu and Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming, with other important early influences including Jou Tsung Hwa and Yang Zhenduo (Yang Cheng Fu's son).

We offer these online sessions as a supplement to our live sessions, particularly for students that cannot make it to Downton, Wiltshire.  Open to newcomers, though some Yang 108 form experience would be essential.

All newcomers may register your interest here (mention Yang 108) and we will contact you to check your suitability.

Once registered, you will be invited to join a recurring Zoom session (see details), which you can diary for each session. You can attend as much or little of the session as you wish.

Cost £12 (please select offline payments if you cannot afford this but may wish to make a smaller contribution by BACS or cheque.

Each session is 90 mins but may run to 120 mins depending on how we are progressing - you can also join 15 mins before to setup your camera etc.

This course is taught by Patrick Foley, who has nearly 30 years of experience in traditional Taiji and Neigong practices. He was taught Wu style by Brian Cooper (Senior instructor of Master Bruce Frantzis) and Yang style by Master Sam Masich (to whom he is Indoor Student).
