Eaton Manor, Shropshire

Getting to Eaton Manor Country Estate

You will need to get to Eaton Manor by car, as there is no public transport directly here.

Shropshire is still one of the least known parts of England, located as it is on the mid-Wales border and yet it is within easy reach of many parts of Britain.
It is approximately 2 hours’ drive from Manchester and 3 hours’ drive from London.

Arriving by road

Eaton Manor Country Estate is situated at the end of narrow single track country lanes. Please drive slowly along these lanes as they have blind corners and sharp bends. There are passing places along the lanes but be prepared to stop and also reverse to the nearest passing place if needed to let on-coming traffic pass.

If you are using Sat Nav please use the postcode SY6 7DH. This will take you as far as our Pendennis property.

From Shrewsbury / Ludlow (A49 to Church Stretton)

(If you are using Sat Nav please do not turn off the A49 until you get to the main traffic lights at Church Stretton)

On arriving at the main traffic lights at Church Stretton (on the A49), take the B4371, signed Much Wenlock. Continue along this road, through the village of Hope Bowdler, without turning off.

After 3 miles (from Church Stretton), TURN RIGHT off the B4371 (by the post box), signed Eaton Manor (brown sign). Follow this lane for 1.5 miles until you reach the village of Ticklerton.

In Ticklerton go past the small war memorial and bus shelter (on your left) and then TURN LEFT, signed Eaton Manor. (If you get to a T junction at the bottom of a hill in Ticklerton you have gone too far).

Carry on along the lane out of the village and after 1.3 miles the lane dips down into the valley towards Eaton. Look out for a brown Eaton Manor sign on your left. Once here please refer to the Estate Plan where the brown sign is shown. Please note Sat Nav will not work from this point.

From Much Wenlock

Take the B4371 towards Church Stretton for 9 miles, passing through the village of Longville in the Dale, until you reach the small village of Wall-under-Heywood.

In the village TURN LEFT off the main road (on a sharp bend in the road, by a bus shelter), signed Eaton Manor (brown sign). (If you reach The Plough pub you’ve missed the turn).

Stay on this lane out of the village (do not turn off) and continue for almost 2 miles (past Whitefields Farm on your right).

At the very end of the lane you pass Pendennis (one of our properties) on your left and then come to a T junction. Eaton Cottage (a private house) is opposite. At this junction you’ll see a brown Eaton Manor sign on your right and a blue sign straight ahead of you. Once here please refer to the Estate Plan where the brown sign is shown.

Please note Sat Nav will not work from this point.

Arriving by train

The nearest railway station is at Church Stretton on the Cardiff - Crewe line. Other stations a little further away are Shrewsbury and Telford.
If you need to arrange a taxi it is essential that you book this in advance directly with a taxi company. Details of local taxi companies are listed on our website.
