Downton Memorial Hall Classes
Downton Memorial Hall, The Borough SP5 3NB, Wiltshire.
In order to comply with current governing body guidance for exercise classes we require all new students to fill in a PARQ form (Physical Activity Requirements Questionaire). It should be printed and completed before returning to us at your first class attendance, or by email if you are able to complete it electronically.
We cannot offer refunds for non-attendance under any circumstances; nor can we re-schedule classes for you at the last minute. We trust you will understand this is now a necessary admin step for us.
You can view classes in three ways:
Table View is useful if you wish to register for several classes together,
Timeline View is easy for a single registration & gives you more detail about each class,
All Venues allows to see all classes available in a calendar layout.

Tai Chi Qigong Set 2 - Downton

Get your Weekly Tai Chi Fix!
Join us for 45-50 minutes of low-impact energising exercise to learn and practise Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi SET 2. All classes are performed standing, but you can choose to be seated. Suitable for all age groups, as long as you are reasonably active.
Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi SET 2 builds on Shibashi SET 1 (taught in the 10am class), but can also be learned by complete beginners. The movements of Set 2 are more challenging than Set 1, with more stepping, turning and balancing than in set 1. It is based on some of the movements from Yang style tai chi chuan and this gentle, flowing qigong exercise set is deeply relaxing and pleasant to perform.
Cost £10
Class led by Jane Launchbury, Senior Instructor Tai Chi Union of Great Britain.

Tai Chi Harmonies - Downton

Learn how to Harmonise your Body & Mind with Tai Chi
In this class, we explore how the ancient art of taijiquan (Tai Chi) actually works to bring about a unique understanding of both external and internal mindful practices. Externally we learn how to connect-up the body to move as a single unit; internally we use that joined-up body to move qi (energy) smoothly from head to toe; all of this requires a mindful awareness of our structure, position and movements through space.
We will not be learning a specific 'form' but will use movement sequences and some partner-connection exercises to support the material covered.
Regular attendance is encouraged as the classes are progressive & you will not be able to keep up otherwise.
Cost: £10
60-75 minutes of exercise. Arrive at 7pm for a start 5 minutes later; the class will finish between 8 and 8:15pm
Led by Patrick Foley, Senior Instructor Tai Chi Union of Great Britain, Indoor Student of Master Sam Masich.
